Terms of Service

By accessing or using youhave48hours.com ("the Platform") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to participate. The Platform is open to individuals worldwide except where prohibited by local law.

Each challenge requires a $5 USD entry fee paid via Dodo Payments, which acts as the Merchant of Record and handles all applicable taxes, VAT, and regional compliance. All payments are processed in USD.

By completing payment you agree to Dodo Payments' terms of service. Your payment details are handled exclusively by Dodo Payments — the Platform never stores or has access to your card information.

Entry fees are non-refundable once paid. If a challenge is cancelled by the Platform before the build window opens, you will receive a full refund processed through Dodo Payments within 5–10 business days.

• One entry per person per challenge.
• You must submit within the 48-hour build window. Late submissions are not accepted.
• Your submission must be a working product accessible via a public URL at judging time.
• The project must be your own original work created during the build window. You may use open-source libraries, AI tools, and publicly available assets.
• Submitting work that is substantially identical to a prior entry (any challenge, any user) will result in disqualification.

All submissions are evaluated by an AI judging system on four criteria: visual hierarchy, originality, craft, and completeness (25 points each, 100 total). Judging decisions are final.

Entries that fail plagiarism checks (domain match, content hash, or semantic similarity) are disqualified without refund. Disqualification reason is noted publicly on the scorecards page.

The winner (highest AI score) receives 50% of the total prize pool. The remaining 50% is retained by the Platform to cover operating costs. Prize amounts are displayed on the challenge page before entry.

Winners are notified by email and must claim their prize by emailing support@youhave48hours.com with subject "Prize claim — [Challenge Name]" within 30 days of announcement. Unclaimed prizes are forfeited. Payment is sent via Wise, PayPal, or UPI within 3 business days of a valid claim.

You retain full ownership of any project you submit. By submitting, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your project name, URL, and scorecard publicly on the Platform indefinitely.

• Submitting malicious, illegal, or harmful content.
• Attempting to manipulate or reverse-engineer the judging system.
• Creating multiple accounts to circumvent the one-entry-per-person rule.
• Any conduct that disrupts the Platform or other participants.

Violations may result in disqualification, account suspension, and forfeiture of any prize.

The Platform is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, youhave48hours.com and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or participation in any challenge.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
